Solid brass "backstrap" grip panel for the Canik MC9L, MC9LS, and Canik MC9 Prime.
- High-traction checkered surface (better control)

- Grip size = roughly Canik "Medium" (larger of the two standard sizes)
Adding weight via a brass backstrap calms the gun down, creating a smoother-shooting, softer-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Adding weight to the frame also reduces the tendency toward "weak wrist" malfunctions common to all polymer frame handguns.
This manifests itself most often when shooting weak-hand-only. Extra mass gives the frame a greater resistance to being pushed rearward in recoil -- helping ensure reliable cycling when the shooter can't supply full resistance due to weakness, poor form, or a too-low grip. The metal backstrap concept descends directly from our famous "Seattle Slug" magazine guide for the Glock. That concept worked so well, it was eventually banned BY NAME in both USPSA and IDPA.

Canik MC9 Prime Backstrap
I ordered the shinny brass and received a flat black backstrap. It worked out because I was going to order the flat black for my MC9 LS. Looks and feels amazing. I've ordered a few more products since. Can't wait to receive them

Must have addition
The caniks are great out of the box but like all poly frame guns lack that balance that comes with weight. Thses back straps restore the balance. The biggest bang for your buck if you want to improve your poly guns.

Best Backstrap On the Market
The first thing I noticed when I got the Canik MC9 Prime was the backstrap, the factory backstrap feels pretty uncomfortable in my hand and just feels cheap, getting the TaylorFreelance brass backstrap transformed the gun. I originally bought it just for the looks, it significantly improved the feeling and my shooting even improved a little. The brass perfectly matches the trigger and provides enough grip without chewing my hand up. One of the best purchases I have made in recent years, and I cannot wait for the brass magwell to accent the backstrap and trigger!

Perfect part
This part fit my MC9 Prime with factory the The factory magwell works with this, and the grip texture is great. Glad to have the extra weight to balance the gun.

Brass back strap for canik prime
This backstrap fit perfect and The way it is knurled is quite unique if you rub it one way it doesn't really feel abrasive but if you rub it the other way it feels super sticky. I got the polished brass and after 2 weeks it's starting to tarnish or fade just enough that it just about perfectly matches the canik Prime's trigger color. It definitely put some weight down low on the gun although I can't tell if it reduces recoil but I'm sure it does some

Brass Back Strap Canik Prime
Simple install, extremely well made and functional piece. Noticed a significant decrease in muzzle flip. Smoothed the pistol out to perfection. Taylor Freelance made this the nearest to perfect a carry pistol is gonna be.
