Get a "Death Grip" on that gun!
It all started when Nils Jonasson (pro shooter for Canik) asked us to increase the amount of checkering on his TF backstrap. He likes to maintain a "death grip" on his pistol, and checkering helps lock the gun in his hand. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
TF's "Death Grip" has checkering spanning the entire gripping surface. Compared to competing models, the Death Grip has more checkering in contact with your hand plus a high level of weight, thus more of the control-enhancing features you want!
Weight and felt recoil are directly related. By adding weight a lightweight gun calms down, creating a smoother-shooting, slower-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Brass is best in most situations, but if you're carrying the gun around all day, you might want aluminum instead.
- Machined from bar stock H02 Brass or 6061 aluminum
- Ridiculous volumes of high-traction checkering CUT into each piece (not cast) for maximum "grip" and control
- Built-in mount point for factory and TF magwells (typical "tailhook" style)
- Lowers the center of gravity (better balance, calmer handling, less top-heavy)

Awesome addition
This is my second TF backstrap, first the black aluminum one and it was great so I tried out the heavier brass one, absolute game changer for the VP9. The grip and balance on my VP9L is insane. Quick service and shipping. Will be buying more for other pistols.

I have the Death Grip on my edc Vp9 and my competition setup Vp9L. Love the texture and added weight to help balance things out. Definitely worth the money!

HK VP9 DEATH GRIP BACKSTRAP - BRASS
This grip really makes the vp9 feel like a much more expensive gun. Fit my hand great and the grip texture is super aggressive. The top later of skin on my palms don't stand a chance in hell of staying intact. The weight of the brass backstrap also seems tot he balance the firearm really nicely. Now if only Taylor Freelance could make on for the P30, I would buy it no questions asked! If you are on the fence about this product just go ahead and buy it!

VP9 Deathgrip
I like the grip and its grippIness feels great in jand and on the gun, only problem os that my mags wont drop free anymore, installing it was a bit tight, and it seems to add just enough pressure to make me have mag removal issues… i may have to file the inside of the grip to make the mags drop free again….

Excellent solution for VP9 competition use
I've been running a VP9L with TF Border Specials quite successfully for three years now, and when this new 'Death Grip" popped up, I decided to configure the pistol with a TF brass magwell and this backstrap. Adds a ton of positive grip, not so aggressive that it draws blood, the bit of added mass is nice, the pistol tracks very well. Easy install, and the magwell fit is quite precise, requiring just a couple taps to properly interface with the backstrap. For those wondering, the shape is very similar to the large size backstrap, which was an ideal choice for my purposes.

Incredibly Solid; Great Texture
This is a really solid backstrap, and while the added weight is great, the texture is what really sells it for me. If side panels get made, even in just aluminum, I'd buy them for the texture alone.
