Our Walther Competition basepads have been a huge hit, so we decided to make a “heavyweight” version out of solid brass!
Since we were going for maximum weight, we did away with the weight-relieving cuts that keep the aluminum PPQ Competition down to one ounce. (The one-ounce rule comes from IDPA and its “Stock Service Pistol” division requirements.)
Not only is brass three times heavier than aluminum by volume, there’s significantly more of it in the same space. The result is a trim but HEAVY four-ounce-plus basepad that’s ideal for shooters in low-cap regimes (California, Canada, New York, Hawaii. . .)

PPQ +0 brass base plates
The solid brass plates are beautifully made, excellent fit, and an easy install. The added weight on my 10 round only magazines, helps tremendously with consoling muzzle flip, especially when combined with the matching brass Magwell thst I also installed. Highly recommend!

Quick response and quick shipping even during the pandemic! I chose this brass and was not sure it would look as good as it does in the pictures; IT LOOKS BETTER! It is heavier than the aluminum version but not only is that expected but welcomed. It is well made and looks fantastic as well. I look forward to whatever else TF will bring for the Walther Q5!
