Product Description
We got tired of drag and made our own follower! Using Delrin and a different cutting pattern, we were able to make this part silky smooth allowing it to slide through the larger SMG mags without dragging. This custom low-drag follower fits the Colt SMG mags. and includes our custom (round-corner) 21-coil spring.

Great replacement follower and spring!
I bought one as a trial and have to say I was very impressed not only with the follower and spring, but with how quickly it arrived. I believe it was shipped the day I ordered and I received it quickly. The Colt mags I have are starting to act like the springs are tired, and I have had the bolt-hold-open tabs bend or break a few times. This combo fixed that on one mag and I will be back for more!

By far the best follower
The Metalform-made mags (sold as PSA, Brownells or, in the past, Colt) have a very well made body and good springs, but the metal follower is hit or miss because the second to last round has the chance to move quite a bit. If your mag sits high in the receiver then you might be OK, but if your mag sits low then, depending on what position that second-to-last round ends up in, the bolt might miss the base of the cartridge and hit the side of the case instead, causing a malfunction. The ASC-made mags (former C-products, sold as ASC, AR-Stoner or, currently, Colt) have a body not as good as the Metalforms and weaker springs but their polymer follower seem to work better than the metal counterpart. However, often the ASC followers need some trimming. Adding Taylor Freelance followers and their made-to-order super springs to Metalform mags has been the best of both worlds for my particular AR-9. The product is a little pricey but that's understandable since it is high quality and low volume production. A few at a time I intend to retrofit Taylor Freelance followers and springs into all my Metalform mags. ----- Wow. Thanks for the detail H.A.! We had problems with the ASC polymer followers dragging. Might be the same problem you're referring to. -- Robin Taylor

Colt magazine follower
Still keeps jamming. This follower can't guarantee reliability for magazines in colt PCC guns. ------------ Yikes! Let us know if you're able to find the source of the jam issue. If it's something with the follower, we want to know so we can improve it.

TF follower and spring for Colt SMG mags
I have some Colt type SMG mags that did not feed 100% when fully loaded. I tried the TF follower and spring. Problem solved. The TF follower is thicker than the stock follower. So, I get one less capacity (31 rounds in 32 rd mag). If paired with the 10 round TF mag extension I get 41 rounds in. Function seems to be 100%. I will take that any day. The machining on the follower and mag extension is very good. Good products that work.

Remedied all problems
My 9mm AR15 was having a sizable amount of feeding issues using ASC mags, most notably the dreaded last-round-hang-up, until I put these followers and springs in. No issues since.
