Product Description
Our Taylor Freelance "Super Henning" basepad was inspired by famed Tanfoglio shooter Henning Wallgren.
After getting many requests, we showed the first prototypes to Henning and various interested parties at the 2012 SHOT show. They've been a steady seller ever since. This design carries a totally new retention system, making the floorplate secure, yet easy to remove without specialized tools (if you tighten it too tightly you'll need an Allen wrench, but it's a standard size). Disassembly of the floorplate is done from the BOTTOM, and the parts are large enough that if the retaining screw backs out, you'll see it/feel it before it can come off. (The design works so well, other manufacturers have copied it.) Our floorplate is built for the 9/.40 Tanfoglio "K-type" magazine (marked K-40 or similar) and fits the official gauge for USPSA's "Limited" division. It also fits the Tanfoglio magazine wells used on their competition guns. Using the Grams spring and follower, we're currently getting a total of 20+1 rounds using Blazer 180-grain .40. Using reloads, we're getting 19+1 with some "squish" to allow easy reloading.
