Our 170mm Tanfoglio extension mirrors our successful 140mm +5 "Super Henning" design. Named in honor of the great Henning Wallgren (well-known Open-division Tanfoglio shooter in the United States), the "Super Henning" improves on the CPMI-style retention system used on the factory extended basepad. Instead of bringing a tiny set screw down from the top, we bring a large screw up from the bottom -- allowing the use of much larger, stronger, harder-to-lose hardware. Additionally, the screw head bottoms out just below flush with the base of the magazine. If you can feel the screw head while handling the magazine, the screw is loose.
SUGGESTED OPTION: Grams Engineering +1 Spring/Follower kit for 170mm Tanfoglio mags.
Note: Thanks to the hardware on the back, this basepad does not fit the USPSA gauge in the usual way. Luckily, appendix (E1) reads ". . .If a base pad does not conform to the configuration of the gauge, a ruler may be used to measure the overall length as pictured above."

Fit
The area near the where the hex screw come out against the magazine does not fit into the mag well. I had to grind in down to make fit properly and seat / drop cleanly. ----- Thanks for the feedback Wade. Tanfoglio made a change to the magwell, and the basepad shape that worked on the old pattern takes some tweaking to fit the new.
