Product Description
Optimize your daily carry gun with our SC Carry Kit!
- Extended backstrap rounds off the grip for comfort, and adds a mag guide for faster, more-positive reloads (and less tendency to pinch your flesh between the mag and the frame!)
- Plus 4 basepad gives you a huge capacity boost -- and a longer grip
- Plus 0 basepad gives you a "pinky hook" effect, a longer grip, and adds a small amount of weight/better shape for easier reloading Converting to all-metal accessories adds weight, moving the balance point down and slowing the recoil of the gun.
If you don't mind the weight, go with brass. If you want your carry gun light -- go with aluminum. The aluminum parts add a couple of ounces, the brass just over six!
Do I Need A New Mag Spring?
Canik has made some changes recently to the way they make magazines, and to the springs they supply with them. You SHOULDN'T need an additional spring for the +4, but please do some test-firing to make sure! If you do need a spring, give us a call. We have a couple of options for a spring upgrade.

Should be a MUST GET for every TP9 SC Elite owner!
I've learned that polymer pistols are lightweight but are not as balanced as they should be. Being lightweight and unbalanced makes the pistol recoil harder and makes the muzzle flip higher and harder than it needs to. Which in turn makes you hitting your target with accuracy very difficult. The Canik TP9 SC elite was already an outstanding sub compact, shooting very flat and shooting more like a larger compact pistol rather than a sub compact. After adding the brass backstrap and brass magazine endplates my Canik now shoots flatter than my full size Walther PDP. Taylor Freelance did an outstanding job of designing the backstrap to be less sharp in the palm and also giving it the added benefit of being a rearward magwell. The black cerakoting is tough and makes the pistol look stock. I can now hit perfect 10 bullseyes now the that pistol is perfectly balanced with the 12 round mag and even more easily with the 15 round now upgraded to 19 rounds. Bringing my EDC loadout to 31 rounds for my personal protection. Accuracy isn't the only thing improved with this brass kit. With less muzzle flip I am able to bring the gun back on target faster for fast follow up shots. If you're serious about personal protection and protecting yourself and innocents around you, this is the kit you need to give yourself the advantage. Thank you Taylor Freelance for brining such a wonderful product to market.

Worth ever penny!
To preface, I also own a TF brass backstrap for my Canik Mete Sfx and I like that one OK, so i expected this kit to be decent, but this set for the Elite SC is a must have, IF you don't mind the added weight. Easy install, and the rounded bottom of the backstrap makes the grip much more comfortable, and I don't have particularly big hands. The weight of this kit, with the "+4 baseplate" (quotes explained below) makes this gun feel significantly better both in the hand manipulating the gun, and while shooting. The difference is immediately noticeable. This kit has made the gun my absolute favorite gun to shoot, and I feel far more in control of both recoil, and just the feeling of moving with it, since there is now a felt weight in your palm, as opposed to all of the weight being above your hand in the slide/barrel. It completely corrects the weight imbalance. Now those quotes above.... I tried the "+4" baseplate on the 15rnd Magazone and it doesn't sit flush with the grip of the gun, so it seems it's meant to go on the 12rnd mag. However, I can only get +1rnd period, even after multiple re-installs to make sure I got everything correct. I've shot about 500rnds through that mag with the plate on it and it runs just fine, no issues at all, but still, I only get +1rnd on this Elite SC. It is possible that this was made for the other Canik models since the mags are all interchangeable, but I haven't tried on them as it's for my carry pistol, the SC. That being said, the extra weight, the look, and the slightly smoother texture are enough of a plus to me that the ammo count isn't a deal breaker, just a minor disappointment. This pistol already holds well more than others in its class (superior concealment, not sub-compact). The +0 baseplate also only fits on the 12rnd magazines, but I see little other than looks out of that, which I do like, but I only have one 12rnd mag and I like the bigger baseplate for other reasons, despite only adding +1rnd for me. Pros: 1. Weight - more evenly distributed and helps with recoil 2. Ergonomics - the rounded edge and canted end of the grip help palm comfort and aide mag insertion in reloads. I also find the smooth edges of the +4 base more comfortable on my pinky finger than the rougher Canik stipples after a day of shooting 3. Looks! I got all black to match my blackout Elite SC, but it does add some nice custom touches that are very noticeable anyways. Plus, colors if you like them! Cons: 1. Weight- this hits both lists as it makes the gun more evenly distributed, but it is definitely felt when worn on the hip in a daily carry situation. With this pistol being kind of beefy and wide already, it can deter some people. Might look into the aluminum kit to split the difference if weight is a factor for you. 2. +4 Baseplate - I also put this here for the simple fact that I couldn't get more than +1 out of this. It can't go on the 15rnd mag and seat against the guns grip, and I couldn't get more in my mag. I only have one 12rnd mag, and it's possible I did something wrong, but it lives on that mag and shoots hundreds of round per week without issue, and still only +1, so I suspect this just doesnt truly add +4 on the Elite SC (maybe requiring a spring change?). I don't personally care that much as I find it's benefits elsewhere, but some may see this as a negative. I assume this is a baseplate for their other Caniks, looks like it would +4 my Mete SFX just fine, but it doesn't get me there with the Elite SC. Overall, I love this kit. I'd buy it again if I even get another SC. I liked my brass backstrap for the Mete Sfx, loved this kit, and I'm sure I'll be back for more TF stuff for my future Caniks. I check back frequently for more stuff.

Best Upgrade for Canik SC
This is the best upgrade I have ever added to my Canik SC and quite possibly the most effective upgrade to any gun I've owned. As many other reviews have stated, the backstrap balances the gun I'm sure the way Canik had intended. I loved my Canik SC before, but now it is one of my favorite guns with the Taylor Freelance kit. Don't hesitate to buy it because you'll give it 5 stars as well.
