Weight and felt recoil are directly related, so by adding weight, our brass backstrap calms the gun down, creating a smoother-shooting, softer-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Adding weight to the frame also reduces the tendency toward "weak wrist" malfunctions common to all polymer frame handguns.
This manifests itself most often when shooting weak-hand-only. The extra mass gives the frame a greater resistance to being pushed rearward in recoil -- helping ensure reliable cycling when the shooter can't supply full resistance due to weakness, poor form, or a too-low grip.
The brass backstrap concept descends directly from our famous "Seattle Slug" magazine guide, which adds 3.5 ounces of weight to the Gen. 2/3 Glock 17. That concept worked so well, it was eventually banned BY NAME in both USPSA and IDPA.

Rival brass backstrap
Super legit very happy with it if you don't have this yet your definitely missing out. The counter weight balance helped me keep the gun even flatter a must have..

Excellent but with one flaw
This is a great addition to the Canik with a caveat that you must need the small back strap.. unfortunately this backstrap was too small for larger hands and negated the improvement in balance by reducing the grip. Still a great product but a large model would make all the difference

CANIK Mete SFT and Brass Backstrap is Excellent!
It's apparent that the Taylor Team understands Physics - top heavy metal slide and lightweight frame make an unbalanced combo. Replacing the stock piece with the Brass Backstrap made my CANiK Mete SFT feel great! The shooting experience with the Brass installed is so much better. Very easy to replace as well.
