Weight and felt recoil are directly related, so by adding weight, our brass backstrap calms the gun down, creating a smoother-shooting, softer-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Adding weight to the frame also reduces the tendency toward "weak wrist" malfunctions common to all polymer frame handguns.
This manifests itself most often when shooting weak-hand-only. The extra mass gives the frame a greater resistance to being pushed rearward in recoil -- helping ensure reliable cycling when the shooter can't supply full resistance due to weakness, poor form, or a too-low grip.
The brass backstrap concept descends directly from our famous "Seattle Slug" magazine guide, which adds 3.5 ounces of weight to the Gen. 2/3 Glock 17. That concept worked so well, it was eventually banned BY NAME in both USPSA and IDPA.

You need this!
I have these on two different Caniks. They are great. Adds needed weight and makes everything feel more solid. It shoots better. The ceracoat version has a bit less grip, the raw brass is like velcro.

Mete Black - Brass Backstrap
Perfect fitment on my Mete, the black created a nice contrast to the FDE of the frame as do the black slide and black TLR-7A mounted. The weighted back-strap adds density to how the pistol feels in the hand and changes the dot tracking under recoil for the better. Plan on ordering (2) more, but these will be for my Walther PDP's. Both the Canik Mete SFT & Walther PDP's are excellent firearms and the brass back-straps add to their excellence.

Brass Backstrap black
I’ve now put a TF brass backstrap on my Elite SC, SFX, and Mete SFT pro and they totally changed the shooting dynamic of all 3 firearms. They all Shoot flatter and recoil Is definitely more manageable. Would highly recommend anyone with a Canik to invest in the brass backstrap as a first mod. Second would be the brass mag extensions. Taylor a freelance is a top notch company with A+ products!
