Solid brass "backstrap" grip panel for the Canik MC9L, MC9LS, and Canik MC9 Prime.

Adding weight via a brass backstrap calms the gun down, creating a smoother-shooting, softer-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Adding weight to the frame also reduces the tendency toward "weak wrist" malfunctions common to all polymer frame handguns.
This manifests itself most often when shooting weak-hand-only. Extra mass gives the frame a greater resistance to being pushed rearward in recoil -- helping ensure reliable cycling when the shooter can't supply full resistance due to weakness, poor form, or a too-low grip. The metal backstrap concept descends directly from our famous "Seattle Slug" magazine guide for the Glock. That concept worked so well, it was eventually banned BY NAME in both USPSA and IDPA.

An Excellent Addition
Read many comments on how this back strap “levels” out the gun, thought I’d give it a try on my new Prime. It will not make you a better shooter, but what I did notice it will do (after about 100 rounds at the range yesterday) was, it felt better in my hand than the normal one, and most importantly, I felt like the added weight back there really helped to “hold” on target better. Especially when I was trying to really have tight groups out to 20 yards. I do also think (although slight) that it helped get my dot back to ready a touch faster, like it helped to make it come down in a better way, if that makes sense. I’m really happy with how it’s performing so far, and I’m very happy I took the chance to get it.

Black color blends in well with my MC9 Prime. Easy to install and fit perfectly! Can feel a positive difference in balance of the pistol, but don't notice any extra weight. Great purchase!

Couldn't be happier
The Canik Mete MC9 Prime is already an awesome piece of machinery right out of the box for a ccw. But adding this backstrap to the gun truly completes the package. It balances out the gun perfectly. And I mean P-E-R-F-E-C-T-L-Y. The quality is top-notch and the fit is spot on. The texture sets up shop beautifully in the meat of your palm the second you grip the gun. And the added weight makes this ccw as fun to shoot as competition guns. Fully loaded the MC9 Prime weighs in at just about 35 oz with this backstrap. This is a 5 star product and it's a freakin steal at just 60 bucks. TF killed it with this one.
