Get a "Death Grip" on that gun!
It all started when Nils Jonasson (pro shooter for Canik) asked us to increase the amount of checkering on his TF backstrap. He likes to maintain a "death grip" on his pistol, and checkering helps lock the gun in his hand.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
TF's "Death Grip" has checkering spanning the entire gripping surface. Compared to competing models, the Death Grip has more checkering in contact with your hand plus a high level of weight, thus more of the control-enhancing features you want!
Weight and felt recoil are directly related. By adding weight a lightweight gun calms down, creating a smoother-shooting, slower-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Brass is best in most situations, but if you're carrying the gun around all day, you might want aluminum instead.

Great Feel, however, a bit small
I don’t know if I may have gotten a lemon, but the backstrap I received is a bit undersized for my PDP Compact, there’s a pretty significant lip from the poly grip to the backstrap that I just covered with tape. It may just be designed more for the PPQ instead of the PDP since it’s only a tad smaller! The size of this backstrap is actually pretty similar to the Stock Small. I unfortunately need a large and since the mediums are all anyone sell, I didn’t expect that this would be any different. I was wrong. Lol. I will make do, but if you’re like me and you need a bit more space for your support hand than a medium can provide, this backstrap is going to give you even less. I’ll make sue until I can find a suitable replacement, but I have to say the texture feels amazing. I’m just cursed with large palms I guess. :/ Overall, I’m okay with it. Hopefully they make a large backstrap with a grip that’s half as good and I’d be a happier camper lol.
