Built for duty, our HK 45 +3 is the big brother to our HK VP9/P30 "Border Special."
Designed at the behest of law enforcement, the Border Special line provides maximum security, strength, and durability on the HK magazine -- and works with the stock spring. Use our HKVP9/40 spring as a replacement when your springs start to wear out.
Mark III version: Built specifically for the HK 45, and no longer works on the HK USP 45 compact. We closed the small (but unsightly) gap between the top of the magazine and the bottom of the frame (needed for the HK USP 45 compact), while retaining the extra length added in the 2.0 model. That extra length made loading the full +3 easier, but still kept the overall size reasonable for a duty gun.
Together, the upgrades make this part flashier, and easier to use.

Update to first review
The HK45+3 functioned except the OEM spring failed to lock the slide after the last round. A +10% spring from Wolff solved the problem.

Holds and functions 13rd, but slide does not lock back after last round.

Simple insatall on stock HK 45 magazine. No spring change needed. 3 rounds fit and all cycle no problem except the spring is more relaxed and the slide does not stay open when the last round is ejected. Other than that, works fine.

Very robust, nicely designed and machined. Installed very quick and easy. Adds the right amount of weight to aid the magazine in quicker ejection. Note: make sure you place your follower inside the extension and then slide it on the magazine.

Slide won't lock
I love that I can fit an extra 3 bullets in my HK45. The extender is really well built. My only complaint is that the slide does not stay locked back when I go through all the rounds.

Though they are supposed to hold 10 rounds my HK45 Tactical magazines reliably hold, and feed 11 rounds. I wasn't expecting to fit 14 rounds after installing this product, but was disappointed that I was only able to load 12 rounds. That being said 12 IS better than 11, and this product was considerably less expensive than some competitors, so I'm not completely put out. HK45 +3 Mag Extension
The mag extension does not work as advertised. I could only get 1 extra round in the mag at first. Had to get on the internet where I found you have to modify the follower to make it work. After I made the modifications, I could get only 2 extra rounds into the mag. I was finally able to get 3 extra rounds in the mag, only after asking around. To get the 3rd round in, you have to bang on the mag because the spring gets hung up. Haven’t shot with it yet. Have to see how it actually works. It seems to have been manufactured well but has a minor design flaw where the spring and/or the follower are getting hung up a a little lip left inside the +3 mag extension. If the manufacturer gets the little ledge shaved down, I imagine the extension would work just fine.
