Get a "Death Grip" on that gun!
It all started when Nils Jonasson (pro shooter for Canik) asked us to increase the amount of checkering on his TF backstrap. He likes to maintain a "death grip" on his pistol, and checkering helps lock the gun in his hand. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
TF's "Death Grip" has checkering spanning the entire gripping surface. Compared to competing models, the Death Grip has more checkering in contact with your hand plus a high level of weight, thus more of the control-enhancing features you want!
Weight and felt recoil are directly related. By adding weight a lightweight gun calms down, creating a smoother-shooting, slower-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Brass is best in most situations, but if you're carrying the gun around all day, you might want aluminum instead.
- Machined from bar stock H02 Brass or 6061 aluminum
- Ridiculous volumes of high-traction checkering CUT into each piece (not cast) for maximum "grip" and control
- Built-in mount point for factory and TF magwells (typical "tailhook" style)
- Lowers the center of gravity (better balance, calmer handling, less top-heavy)

OUTSTANDING PRODUCT
WOW! TF Knocked it out of the part with this VP9 Death Grip Backstrap. Mill work and fitment are exceptional. Gave the VP9 the weight it needed from the beginning with exceptional grip and feel as an added bonus.

Black Brass Deathgrip Backstrap
After buying one and testing it during an extended range session, I bought two more for my other VP9 variants. I own three now, enough said.

Aside from the dumb product name, the VP9 death grip is an outstanding addition to this HK. The only thing that could make it better is if they also had available brass side panels -- like what's available for the p320 APX frame (from another manuf).

VP9 brass black deathgrip backstrap
Excellent work by TF. Backstrap fits perfect and has great texture. Aggressive enough to add a lot of traction, vs factory ones, but not aggressive enough to hurt and feel like you'll bleed. Size is equivalent to the medium sized backstrap. I took a couple pics, review won't let me post pics, but the shape and size look exactly like the medium backstrap. Weight is great. I'd say it makes my VP9L more centered balanced and adds some wight to an already polymer frame. I do notice a little difference with recoil, a little softer. I'm imagining adding the brass magwell will help more with that, which I'm looking to get next.
