Totally new, the HK VP 9/40 version of our "Overdrive" magwell optimizes what you want in a competition-style magazine funnel. This latest brass version does all that, and adds weight to help balance and recoil control:
- Legal for most pistol games that allow magwells (1 5/8" wide at widest point)
- Milled from solid brass (3X the weight of aluminum!)
- Accepts factory magazines as well as TF +5 and +0 extensions.
- Textured for "grippiness" where you want it, smooth where you don't
- Maximized funnel area
- 3 ounce total weight adds balance, improves recoil control
- Works with the small and medium backstrap. Large backstrap will require fitting.
NOTE: Other basepad brands may not fit (XTECH +5 basepads are too broad-shouldered)
NOTE: According to customers, this part does not work with Tyrant CNC mag extensions.

Wanted to give an up-to-date review
So, I wanted to provide an up-to-date review for people looking to get this magwell. Not sure how old the previous reviews are, so I'll preface this with today's date of 11/24/2025. I was hesitant on getting it due to the mentions of having to modify it by filing down something for proper fitment. I'd like to bring up that I had zero issues with fitment -I got the aluminum backstrap with this. It fits perfectly, feels great, doesn't wobble around. It doesn't feel or look chinsy like the other ones I've looked at on places like hkparts. I would absolutely buy this again. My only gripe is that i wish i got the backstrap in brass for the added weight. 10/10 product

VP9 Match weight and balance improvement
Improved weight and balance when mated with brass side panels and brass backstrap - about 8 oz total. Great fit and finish of these parts made installation easy.

VP9 brass black deathgrip backstrap
I have one on a vp9l and works great. A little minor shaving to fit with deathgrip backstrap. Bought a second one for a p30l. Had to shave a little off the bottom of the .medium backstrap and elong the hole a smidge (maybe 1/16in). Fits the p30l snug and doesn't move. Adds nice weight to the back half of the gun since I have a x300 on the front. Recoil seems less, even though the p30l doesn't feel like it has a lot. If anything it helped with the snappiness of the gun. Great buy
