+2 basepad in 5 & 10 rmd GEN12 mags
The product description clearly states its for 10rnd mags and did not guarantee working with the 5rnd mags. So far I have test fit into both mag variants. The 10 rnd mag with factory plastic baseplate and internal bottom spring follower removed succeeded in taking 12 rounds of 2-3/4" buckshot without issue. However, when I did the same treatment to a 5rnd mag, it would not take 7 rounds after the new baseplate. The internal real estate seems less...6 go in fine but on the 7th the spring would jam/lock up together inside the new baseplate causing the follower to no longer be in spring tension. I repeated this process twice making sure the spring was seated correctly at both ends and the issue repeated. When I reinstalled the internal bottom plastic follower on the bottom of the spring going inside the TF baseplate the mag would take 6 with no more spring lockups. So in conclusion, the TF baseplate seems to be +2 in the 10rnd mags but only +1 in the 5rnd mags. Its not a big deal to me because like another user, I agree that the TF baseplate just makes the mags more robust for dropping and grabbing vs the OEM plastic base pads so I will be purchasing these for all of my 5 & 10 rnd GEN12 mags for not only the capacity addition but the overall quality enhancement. I do not yet have the shotgun to test cycling (still waiting on ATF). With the exception of the aforementioned on the 5rnd mags, both 5 & 10 rnd mags seem to have exactly the same spring tension with and without the TF baseplates loaded to capacity so I do not expect a feeding issue. If I do discover a feeding issue in the future I will come back and update.
